Elite marathoner Tania Jones is no stranger to victory. In addition to being one of Canada’s top three-ranked marathon runners for eight years, she is considered to be one of the nation’s most accomplished runners. In 2001 she represented Canada in the marathon at the World Track & Field Championships, and in 2002, she was named Canadian Champion – Marathon.
Originally from Oyama, BC, Tania caught the running bug early – she first tasted victory back in the seventh grade, when she won the Elementary School District Cross-Country Championships. The rest, as they say, is history. Tania found her niche and ran with it – literally! (Read more about Tania’s numerous running achievements at www.taniajones.com)
Today, Tania’s life has evolved into more than just running. With a successful corporate career and a busy young family, she brings new meaning to the word “balance.” In fact, she has been called upon by national publications such as Chatelaine and iRun magazines to explain just exactly how she is able to “do it all,” while making it look so easy!
Based in Richmond Hill, ON, Tania is a high-profile role model in the Canadian running community. She has appeared as a running expert on CTV Balance, Rogers Sportsnet, and Oxygen. An engaging speaker and a natural motivator, Tania has inspired hundreds of children and adults to get up, walk, run or cross the finish line. Notable appearances include the 2008 adidas Speakers Series and Rogers Corporate Headquarters (Toronto, 2009), in addition to numerous corporate and community events.
When her former employer, Procter & Gamble, embraced the Corporate Athlete program in 2006, Tania became one of the catalysts and role models of the program. Driven to promote a lifestyle-approach to balance, Tania continues to be a leader in the workplace, facilitating wellness initiatives that foster a healthy corporate culture.
Tania’s coaching philosophy has evolved from partnerships with some of Canada’s legendary coaches and from connecting with the world’s best at international competitions. A key component to Tania’s knowledge base is her appreciation for physiology and nutrition, learned in the laboratories of the US Olympic marathon team.
High performance and exceeding your personal expectations is possible with a strategic approach, the right infrastructure and smart execution. Tania works with each runner to develop a plan around your lifestyle and commitments, building in the right elements for maximum return on time and effort invested.
